VENICE AIRPORT (VCE) INFORMATION

Venice International Airport, also called Venice Marco Polo Airport, carries the international codes of VCE (IATA) and LIPZ (ICAO). The airport is located at Viale Galileo Galilei 30, 30173 Venezia VE and lies at an elevated position of 2 meters above sea level. In 2018 Venice Airport handled 11,184,608 passengers, which made it Italy's fourth busiest airport. Venice Airport serves as a hub for EasyJet and Volotea budget airlines. From Venice Airport passengers can travel to Amsterdam and Brussels, Dublin and Dubai, Moscow and Montreal, Paris, Munich and Vienna and many more international destinations.

VCE is managed by SAVE S.p.A, an airport company partially owned by several local authorities that also run nearby Treviso airport, where Wizz Air and Ryanair have their hubs.

The single terminal at VCE offers passengers services on three floors. Ground Level handles arrivals and the second Level is for departures. There are ca 70 check-in desks. On the third level the airlines and the airport operator have their offices. Departures offers passengers two airport lounges.

Getting to and from Venice Airport

Passengers can get to and from Venice International Airport by rail and road. Venice Mestre station is linked to the airport, and also to the bus terminal at Piazzale Roma. Scheduled buses travel to the bus terminal and there is also a water shuttle, the Alilaguna water shuttle, which offers various destinations in Venice through its Red, Blue and Orange lines. Busitalia Sita Nord also provides bus services from the airport into central Venice.

Line 35, the ATVO Venezia Express bus go to Venice Piazzale Roma, as do ACTV line 5 buses. If you wish to travel to Mestre Railway Station, you need to take ACTV line 15 or ATVO Mestre Express service line 25, both also travel into Mestre city center.

Car rental is handled on Level 3 of the multi-level car park P1, which is just 2 minutes' walk from the terminal.

Cooperativa Artigiana Radiotaxi (www.radiotaxivenezia.com) provides airport transfers. A trip to or from central Venice costs ca 45.00 to 48.00 euros, to Venice Piazzale Roma about 40.00 euros.

Water Bus Transport

Alilaguna water buses can be accessed at the airport docks. Water buses connect to Venice and the islands of Murano, Burano and Lido.Tickets can be purchased onboard the water bus or at the ticket office at the landing stage and in the Public Transport ticket office in the Arrivals hall at VCE. In Venice the Alilaguna water bus starts from San Marco, Rialto, Fondamenta Nuove and Guglie.
